Items We Don't Take

HAULTRA removes many types of household, commercial and specialty junk, but not every material can safely or legally be transported as ordinary junk. Certain hazardous, regulated, explosive, chemical, contaminated or otherwise prohibited materials may require specialized handling or an approved disposal facility. If you’re unsure about an item, contact HAULTRA before your appointment rather than placing it in the removal pile without disclosure.

Hazardous or Regulated Materials

HAULTRA does not accept materials that cannot legally or safely be transported or processed through appropriate disposal facilities.

Depending on the specific material and applicable handling requirements, this may include certain:

  • Hazardous chemicals
  • Explosive materials
  • Flammable substances
  • Regulated waste
  • Chemical products
  • Contaminated materials
  • Other legally restricted items

Because acceptance requirements can vary by material, this is not intended to be an exhaustive list.

Don't Hide Hazardous Materials in a Load

Customers must accurately disclose the items being removed.

Potentially hazardous or regulated material should never be hidden inside:

  • Garbage bags
  • Boxes
  • Cabinets
  • Containers
  • Furniture
  • Mixed construction debris
  • Other junk

If our crew discovers undisclosed material that cannot be safely or legally handled, the item may need to remain at the property.

Bedbugs and Pest Contamination

Customers must tell HAULTRA before arrival if furniture, mattresses or other belongings are known or suspected to have bedbugs or other pest contamination.

This allows us to determine whether the items can be handled and whether additional precautions or charges may apply.

Failure to disclose known contamination can affect whether the service can proceed.

Unusual or Potentially Unsafe Items

Some items aren’t necessarily prohibited in every circumstance but may require prior assessment.

These can include items that are:

  • Extremely heavy
  • Difficult to access
  • Contaminated
  • Unusually large
  • Potentially hazardous
  • Difficult to transport safely
  • Subject to special disposal requirements

Send photos and a description before booking.

Specialty Items May Require Approval

Certain specialty items may be accepted only after HAULTRA has reviewed the item and confirmed that appropriate transportation and disposal options are available.

Additional handling or disposal charges may apply.

Never assume an unusual item is included simply because other junk is being removed from the same property.

What If I'm Not Sure?

Send us:

  • A photo
  • Item name or description
  • Approximate size
  • Quantity
  • Information about contents
  • Details of any known contamination

We’ll let you know whether the item can be included in your pickup or requires another disposal solution.
